FAQ

How is material priced, and what does "by the ton" mean?

Avanni Landscape Supply sells all of its bulk materials by the ton. That means pricing is based on weight rather than on bags or by the scoop, which is the standard way bulk sand, gravel, limestone, and topsoil are sold.

What "by the ton" means for you

A ton is 2,000 pounds. When you order, say, four tons of river gravel, you're buying 8,000 pounds of material delivered loose to your property. Because everything is priced by weight, you can order the exact amount your project calls for, and there's no minimum order.

Tons vs. cubic yards

People often plan a project in cubic yards but buy in tons. As a rough conversion, one cubic yard of sand, gravel, or crushed limestone weighs about 1.3 to 1.5 tons. Topsoil runs a bit lighter. Our how much material do I need guide explains the math.

Getting a price

Each product page shows the per-ton price for that material. To see the total for your job, including delivery to your address, add what you need and check out, or send your details through the quote request page. We don't quote prices we can't stand behind, so for anything unusual, call (985) 205-3396.
